Welcome on Funky Rail,
Long, long time ago I had a small Märklin railroad track, just a small
oval on a piece of plywood. But when you're eight years old such a modest
set-up gets boring pretty fast. After collecting dust for several years
in the attic the thing was sold.
But all those years it kept nagging. Technology, computers and building
things with my own hands have always appealed to me. On top of that model
railroading has developed tremendously over the past 10 years.
Just by accident in early 2003 I stumbled across Beneluxrail.net (BNLR)
a very active Dutch/Belgian internet-forum for model-railroaders. At first
I just read but after a while I registered and have never regretted that
move since. Second half of 2003 I started to get serious, size, brand, period,
digital or not were all considered carefully.
This site attempts to visualise my journey and the many roadblocks I encountered.
Hope you enjoy reading about my journey but above all find the info on this
site of use to you. Please let me know your opinion on the site and contents,
